Eastbound and Down(town)

The time has come, to leave the place that I call home - and no that's not meant to sound so ominous and dark, just the truth! Michelle & I have officially started looking....

The backstory...
Michelle's condo is slated to be ready in November/December...and although everything seems to be on track (after being pushed back from August), we're realistic, and I've put it on record that I wouldn't be surprised for another setback to January/February. So that leaves us here...sitting on our hands, waiting to see where we go in the future, and it's just frustrating; talking about living together, but having the final decision left in the hands of a few construction guys down in East York.

So now we're here...
We've decided that there's no point in waiting, and that we should just look for an apartment to live in downtown in the meantime. We've both always wanted to live downtown, and that probably won't ever happen if we move into the condo together - after that will be house, and then it only gets further away from the city from there. So now's the time; we've set up two appointments this weekend to see some places downtown, one a little closer to the downtown core, and another closer to where the condo will be.

We both want to be relatively close to the subway - because well, what's the point of living downtown if you're not. So that leaves us a certain map of where we should be looking at places....

So, this weekend we're seeing a place at Pape/Danforth...which is RIGHT on the subway line, and closer to the future condo site than downtown....

Place #1 - outside of the downtown core, but closer to the
subway, and in the same neighborhood as Michelle's condo

The second one we're looking at is more downtown - Dundas/Bathurst-ish, and isn't super close to the subway, but it's not far, and much easier to enjoy the city because it's walkable to everything....

Again..these are only two of the places we're seeing....and we have some time to decide....but if all goes according to plan...July 1st - we'll be moving...sounds a little scary to say, but if everyone else is growing up, I might as well be too.

I'll keep you all posted as to how the appointments go....should be interesting to say the least.
